WaterSure

The Water Sure scheme offers a set of tariffs designed to protect metered customers with specific needs who use higher than average amounts of water due to particular circumstances.

The tariff has an annual standing charge higher than our standard rate, but has no charge per cubic metre. For customers who have established their entitlement for assistance, please see the table below or our Charges Summary view the charges applicable to you. Other tariffs for customers receiving certain benefits or tax credits and living in metered properties are AquaCare Plus and SoLow.

Do I qualify?

You can apply for the WaterSure tariff if you, or another person residing in the premises, receive one or more of the following benefits:

• Council tax benefit
• Housing benefit
• Income support
• Income based jobseekers’ allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Working tax credit
• Child tax credit (except families in receipt of the family element only)
• State pension credit.  

And are either

Entitled to receive child benefits for three or more dependant children aged 19 or under who live at the premises or who have been diagnosed as suffering from any medical conditions listed below requiring the use of significant additional water:

• Desquamation (flaky skin loss)
• Weeping skin disease (eczema, psoriasis, varicose ulceration)
• Incontinence
• Abdominal stoma
• Renal failure requiring dialysis at home
• Crohn’s disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Any other medical condition which is certified by a doctor as involving the use of significant volumes of water.
