Hartlepool Water currently has no Authorised Departures or AMP4 undertakings in place.
Authorised Departures
An Authorised Departure can be granted by the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) under Regulation 20 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 (as amended). Under the terms of an Authorised Departure, a company is allowed to supply water not meeting the standard for a particular parameter, providing there is no risk to public health. Consultation must be carried out with the Health Protection Agency, and a maximum value for the parameter must be agreed and approved by DWI. Authorised Departures have a maximum time period of three years.
