BOGUS CALLERS HIT HARTLEPOOL
Over the last few weeks dubious characters have been posing as 'Hartlepool Water' or 'Water Board' workers. Always ask callers for identification and if you are suspicious please contact us on 0800 028 4587 or any of our numbers which are familiar to you. Remember the doorstep check:
LOCK - Make sure your back door is locked before you answer the front door
STOP - Ask yourself 'am I expectging anyone?'
CHAIN - Secure the door with a door chain before opening it
CHECK - Ask for and double-check the caller's identity. If you are in any doubt, keep them out.
